SftTree/OCX 7.5 - ActiveX Tree Control

New Features

SftTree/OCX 7.5 is virtually 100% upward compatible from version 7.0 and older versions. Upgrading a project from an older version usually takes just a few minutes. For details about upgrading, please see "Upgrading To Version 7.5".

• SftTree/OCX 7.5 no longer provides help documentation integrated with development tools in various custom formats - instead documentation is located at https://softelvdm.com/Documentation/SftTree OCX 7 5, which allows for continuous documentation updates without the need to release a new product version. Web access is required to access the product documentation.
• HTML samples have been removed - Use of SftTree/OCX with Internet Explorer is no longer recommended - Cabinet files are included with SftTree/OCX 7.5. This is the last release supporting Internet Explorer. Future releases will no longer include cabinet files or the SftTreeIE control for support with Internet Explorer.
• This is the last release supporting Visual FoxPro. Future releases will no longer include the SftTreeNC control for support with Visual FoxPro and other development tools (see Using SftTree/OCX with Other Development Tools).
• New built-in column sort indicators.
• New column header dropdown/filter buttons.
• New column footer dropdown/filter buttons.
• New Headers.ClearSortIndicators method to clear all sort indicators.
• New Headers.SortedColumn property to retrieve the current sort selection.
• New Headers.SortIndicators property to enable built-in header sort indicators, typically used for column sorting.
• New Header.Button property to define the appearance of the header dropdown/filter buttons.
• New Header.GetButtonPosition and Header.GetButtonPositionPix methods to retrieve the position of a header dropdown button.
• New Header.SortIndicator property to define the column header's sort indicator.
• New Footer.Button property to define the appearance of the footer dropdown/filter buttons.
• New Footer.GetButtonPosition and Header.GetButtonPositionPix methods to retrieve the position of a footer dropdown button.
• New FlybyHighlight event indicating that the item highlighted by flyby highlighting has changed.
• New ItemClick and ItemDblClick event AreaType values constSftTreeColumnFooterButton and constSftTreeColumnHeaderButton indicating that a dropdown/filter button was clicked.

The following enhancements were made available in version 7.0:

• Many new properties and methods to support the new column footers.
• The Footer property returns a SftTreeFooter object for a given column.
• Footers property returns the SftTreeFooters object.
• A new ToolTipColumnFooter event is used to provide Tool Tips for column footers.
• New column footer properties:

• Many new properties and methods to support the new row/column footer.
• The RowColumnFooter property returns a SftTreeRowColumnFooter object for a given column.
• New row/column footer properties:

• The delay after which Tool Tips are displayed and hidden can now be defined using the Items.ToolTipIntervalOn and Items.ToolTipIntervalOff properties.
• New events signaling that the mouse cursor is entering/leaving the control (MouseEnterControl, MouseLeaveControl).
• A new ToolTipColumnHeader event has been introduced replacing the ToolTipColumn event to make the event name more consistent. The ToolTipColumn event is still available.
• The new AutoExpandDragDropInterval property defines the delay (in milliseconds) after which items are automatically expanded during an OLE drag & drop operation.
• The new AutoExpandHoverInterval property defines the delay (in milliseconds) after which items are automatically expanded when the mouse cursor hovers over an item.
• New RowColumnHeader.Width and RowColumnHeader.WidthPix properties to define the row header and row/column header width (identical to the already available RowHeaders.Width, RowHeaders.WidthPix properties).
• New Headers.EdgeHorizontalColor, Headers.EdgeVerticalColor, Items.EdgeHorizontalColor, Items.EdgeVerticalColor, RowColumnHeader.EdgeHorizontalColor, RowColumnHeader.EdgeVerticalColor, RowHeaders.EdgeHorizontalColor, RowHeaders.EdgeVerticalColor properties to define the color used between header/footers.
• Various corrections to help file syntax.
• Support for Help Viewer 1.1 (Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1)
• Enhanced property pages.
