A number of functions are available to determine the exact position of components of the masked edit control:
| GetCharIndex | Returns the index of the character at a given location. |
| GetCharPos | Returns the position of a range of characters. |
| GetInsertPosition | Calculates the caret location for insertion. |
| GetPosition | Returns the position and dimensions of an area. |
| HitTest | Determines the area at a given location (see SFTMASK_AREA Constants). |
