SftButton/OCX 4.0 — Advanced Button Controls
Buttons the way Windows should have built them. SftButton/OCX gives your applications drop-down buttons, toggle buttons, images, animations, and full color control — a fast, self-contained ActiveX control for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.
SftButton/OCX is a standalone implementation, not a subclassed Windows button, so every detail is yours to control: up to two images per button (bitmaps, GDI+ images, icons, animations, Windows metafiles), single-line or multiline text, application-defined colors down to the border lines, and a drop-down button style that's perfect for popup menus. It works in any ActiveX control container — Visual Studio, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Access, and many more — with no MFC, no VB runtime, and no external DLLs required.
Built for Today's Windows
- Dark mode — Turn it on explicitly, or set it to Automatic and the control follows the Windows app theme, switching live as the user changes it. A DarkModeChange event lets your application restyle the surrounding UI to match.
- High contrast support — The control honors the Windows high-contrast setting out of the box, following Microsoft's accessibility guidance.
- Per-monitor DPI awareness — A DPI property and DPIChanged event track the monitor the control is on, and images scale to the current DPI automatically, so buttons stay crisp when windows move between a 4K display and a standard one.
- Accessibility built in — A UI Automation provider makes every button visible to screen readers (Narrator, NVDA, JAWS) and automation tools — automatic, with no code changes.
- Windows 10 and 11 — Supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and their server editions, with full Unicode support.
- AI-ready documentation — The complete documentation is also published in AI/LLM-readable form (llms.txt convention), and the installation includes an AGENTS.md file that points AI coding assistants at the product's guide and API reference.
