Our 100% C# tree control for Windows Forms, with grid-like features: item and cell selection, cell merging and editing, images, check boxes, radio buttons, buttons, drop-down buttons and progress bars. Version 3.0 runs on the .NET Framework and on .NET 10, with Visual Studio designer support on both, and adds automatic dark mode, per-monitor high-DPI scaling and built-in screen-reader accessibility. Forms and documents from version 2.0 load unchanged.
A 100% C# tree control for Windows Forms. Multi-line, multi-column, fully hierarchical data displays with grid-like features, now at home on .NET 10 and on modern Windows.
SftTree/NET has been the tree control for Windows Forms developers who need more than a TreeView or a flat grid. Version 3.0 keeps everything you rely on, adds .NET 10 and the Visual Studio designer for .NET projects, and brings the control fully up to date, while forms and documents saved with version 2.0 load unchanged.
|-
Unlimited levels, single or multiple roots and expand/collapse buttons, from a deep hierarchy to a plain list. Items are as tall as their contents need.
| |
Resizable, reorderable columns with multiple header rows and footer rows, each made of the same parts as a cell.
[#]
A cell is made of parts: text, images, check boxes, radio buttons, buttons, drop-down buttons and progress bars, in any combination.
<->
Edit cells in place with standard Windows Forms controls, select items or individual cells, and let users rearrange the view.
Tree control components
The image shows the individual components available in a SftTree/NET tree control. All components, except for the first column displaying an item's text, are optional. Turn all optional components off and the control visually acts as a simple list box.
.NET Framework and .NET 10
SftTree/NET 3.0 runs in .NET Framework 4.7 (or later) applications and in .NET 10 (or later) Windows Forms applications. .NET projects reference the Softelvdm.SftTreeNET NuGet package from the package source Setup registers; .NET Framework projects reference the assembly directly. In both, Visual Studio's designer hosts the control: place it from the toolbox, edit it in the Properties window, and design columns, items, headers and footers visually in the property pages, which save the contents in the form's resource file.
Built for modern Windows
Version 3.0 follows the system's choices, so your trees do too.
Follows the Windows "Choose your mode" setting, or lock it on with a single property. Your own color choices are always respected.
The control follows the DPI of the monitor showing it and, at your option, scales every image and pixel value as windows move between monitors.
Built-in UI Automation support exposes rows and their levels, headers, cells, selection and expand/collapse state to Narrator, NVDA, JAWS and others, and the Announce method pushes short status updates to the screen reader.
Honors the Windows contrast theme automatically, as Microsoft's accessibility guidelines require.
