Margins

SftPrintPreview/OCX offers powerful page formatting features, with its margins, headers and footers. These are accessible to an end-user through the built-in Page Setup dialog.

Left, top, right and bottom margins can be defined using the LeftMargin, TopMargin, RightMargin and BottomMargin properties. In addition, a "gutter" margin is available, which can be placed at the left or top of the page (see GutterMargin and GutterPosition properties). A gutter margin is useful when printing pages that are to be bound or two- and three-hole punched. The gutter margin provides extra space for such binding. If mirrored margins are selected (see MirrorMargins property), the gutter margin will alternate between left and right (or top and bottom) on the front and back of pages. The above picture shows the gutter margin as a shaded area (when printing or previewing, the gutter margin area is not shaded).

The header and footer titles are positioned at a user- or application-defined distance from the top or bottom edge of the paper (see HeaderMargin, FooterMargin properties).

The top and bottom margins defined should be larger than the distance for the headers/footers, as otherwise the headers and footers could overlay the page contents.
