This section describes the preferred distribution method when shipping SftTree/NET with your application. This insures that your application can be safely installed and use SftTree/NET even if another vendor has already installed his application which also uses SftTree/NET.

Distribution of SftTree/NET is limited to the run-time portion of the product.  Redistributable files are listed in the product license agreement.  No other files may be distributed.

Installing SftTree/NET

When distributing SftTree/NET with your application, only the following files can be distributed with your application royalty-free. These files allow the use of the control with your application. The design-time interface is no longer available once SftTree/NET is shipped with your application. Important: Redistributable files are located in the SftTree/NET installation directory (\Program Files\Softelvdm\SftTree NET 2.0\Redist\).

Registering SftTree/NET

When distributing SftTree/NET with your application, the SftTree/NET assemblies can optionally be registered in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC).  This is not required. The Gacutil tool is used to register assemblies in the Global Assembly Cache. For more information about the Global Assembly Cache, please see the .NET Framework Developer's Guide.
