Options management using the SftOptions control allows end-users to customize applications and define their preferences while minimizing the application development effort.

SftOptions

Options Control

SftOptions offers many unique features, which simplify the implementation, use and management of end-user customization of an application through a simple and familiar options list.

SftOptions includes two ActiveX controls, the SftOptions control and the SftOptsIO control. The SftOptions control implements a complete user interface presenting application-specific options to the end-user. The SftOptsIO control is used by the application to retrieve (or set) application options.

  • Includes a complete user interface control for application options management.
  • Includes a control for simplified Registry and INI file I/O to access and modify application options.
  • Minimal development effort through complete design-time support.
  • Easy run-time retrieval of defined options from the Windows Registry or an INI file.
  • Full support for context-sensitive (What's This) help.
  • Support for status bar help information.
  • Dual interfaces throughout for optimum performance.
  • ATL based control, no MFC DLLs or other DLLs required.

Royalties

Any application that you develop can use SftOptions royalty-free in run-time only mode; design-time features are not available. Each user (developer) who needs access to design-time and compile-time features must license a copy of SftOptions.

Languages Supported

SftOptions supports all popular ActiveX (OCX) platforms, such as Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic, Visual C++ and many more. Feature limitations may exist depending on the platform used. These are generally caused by the platform, rather than our control product, which implements the current ActiveX control standards specifications.

Environments Supported

SftOptions supports Windows 98 through Windows 10 and their server editions using the same set of properties, events and methods. DBCS character support is available with the standard controls on all supported platforms. UNICODE support is available when running on Windows 2000 and above using UNICODE versions of the control.
